A superb film adaptation of Brian Friel’s enormously popular play about five sisters, starring Meryl Streep, Kathy Burke, Brid Brennan & Michael Gambon. A young boy tells the story of growing up with his unmarried mother and aunts in 1930s Donegal. Their world is transformed by the arrival of brother Father Jack and the boy's father.
